This series of time-lapse maps depict the changing racial landscape of six major U.S. cities using dicennial census data over the period 1960-2000.

Note: All fading values are interpolated which obscures any inter-decadal modulations in growth rate. Data for these maps were obtained through the National Historic GIS.
